Brittney Ingersoll is an Independent Historian and the Curator of the Cumberland County Historical Society in Greenwich, NJ. She received her Master’s with distinction in American History with a Certificate in Public History from Rutgers University – Camden. She is currently working towards her Master’s of Information with a concentration in Archives and Preservation at Rutgers University – New Brunswick. Ingersoll’s historical interests are 19th-century gender, sexuality, material culture, and social and cultural history. She routinely writes for CCHS’s newsletter, The Cumberland Patriot, on research pertaining to Cumberland County and has presented her research at several invited talks. Ingersoll also researches and writes on areas outside of Cumberland County, mainly focusing on Philadelphia and New York City.
